Sixth grade students are presently studying freshwater and the human impact on this precious resource. As part of this course study, some students were able to tour Richmond Hill’s wastewater treatment facility to learn how our city’s wastewater is treated and the effluent is released into the wetlands for sustainability. During the visit, students also observed solid waste, sludge, being pressed and prepared for disposal via belt press system. The staff was well prepared and answered many questions from the students. \r\n
