The Lucy Long Scholarship Committee is proud to announce the winners of their yearly scholarship. This year’s winners Desiree’ Jefferson, Rose Marsan, Kaylee Kim, Abby Ott, and Chae Yun Yoo have won a $1,000 scholarship. The Long Scholarships are funded by a trust set up under the will of Lucy Bunce Long, a retired educator. Mrs. Long and her husband, Dr. Leslie Long, moved back to Bryan County from Auburn, Alabama to retire in the early 1980s. Dr. Long was a Soil Research Scientist and adjunct professor at Auburn University and Mrs. Long was an elementary school teacher. Both had an interest in helping high school seniors in the Richmond Hill area attend college.
