What is AP (Advanced Placement)?

Through AP college-level courses and exams, you can earn college credit, stand out in the admission process, and learn from some of the most skilled, dedicated, and inspiring teachers in the world. AP courses teach students important skills that can lead to college success: how to read text critically, how to solve problems analytically, and how to write effectively.

Can any student take AP?

Yes, however we strongly encourage families to work with their child’s teachers for insight and recommendations for appropriate placement.

What are AP Exams?

AP Exams are rigorous, multiple component tests that are administered at high schools each May.

High School students can earn college credit, placement, or both for qualifying AP Exam scores. Each AP Exam has a corresponding AP course and provides a standardized measure of what students have learned in the AP classroom.
